ChatGPT connects to the EconomicsAPI MCP server through our published ChatGPT app. Copy your key, add EconomicsAPI as a connector, then ask for dated values, history or indicator forecasts. The 34 tools use the same data and allowance as REST.

    Get your API key

    Sign up at the dashboard. The welcome walkthrough shows your key and the connect button. The free account includes 100 free API calls in total.

    Add EconomicsAPI as a connector

    Click Connect ChatGPT to open our published ChatGPT app, then add it as a connector.

    Send one of the examples below. The connector already handles authentication.

  • Use EconomicsAPI to get the latest EUR/USD rate and the last 30 days.

The connection first finds available names within the requested country or category. It uses common aliases such as inflation and unemployment, then retrieves matching data. Coverage varies; reference prices are not live trading quotes. Forecasts are estimates with 80% prediction intervals.

Reconnect after an update

If authorization expires, open the connector in ChatGPT settings and reconnect with your EconomicsAPI account. Changed tool names and schemas are picked up in a new conversation.
